“The piano keys are black & white
but they sound like a
million colors in your mind”
-MC Mena

I began my love of the piano when I was at the age of 7 years old, second grade.

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA. As a young adult I won the “State of Pennsylvania Best Pianist” award, a great accomplishment!  Afterwards, I studied music at Hyles-Anderson College in Indiana.

I have been living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for the last 33 years and reside in Kirkland WA.  I have taught 100’s of wonderful piano students in the Mill Creek and Kirkland areas for the last 20 years.

I teach children from the age of 4 years to adults. I am flexible and adaptable and can accommodate a wide range of learning styles and needs.

My teaching styles range from CLASSICAL to IMPROVISATIONAL music.

I also perform for other events like:
Private Parties | Corp. Events | Weddings | Funerals

TEACHING TECHNIQUE

Piano lessons don’t have to be an uncomfortable experience. I specialize in working with young children and adults who would like to play but don’t want traditional lessons. With a motivating repertoire and instruction tailored to your learning style, you’ll be making music in no time!

With a step by step individual plan in place, we can chart each students artistic growth. We fully utilize music technology through the web, researching music online through musicnotes.com and youtube. My students are encouraged to include all of their favorite music alongside with their weekly lesson books. The goal is to create an interest that keeps them practicing and performing and loving the piano for many years.

Speaking of performing, I encourage my students to give back to their community with many visits to the local assisted living centers to play for the residents. They also perform for their schools in talent shows and their local churches. There is also an annual piano recital that the students are encouraged to participate in.

I understand the pressures that parents and children feel in their busy jam-packed schedules, and approach each lesson with only positive encouragement and understand when homework and sports commitments crowd out piano practicing occasionally. I’ve always said, we can go as slow, or as fast as you want to go in your learning experience!
